SUNRISE, Fla. _ The Penguins honored their 1991 and 1992 Stanley Cup-winning teams with a reunion and ceremony last weekend.
Some players _ like Ron Francis, Ulf Samuelsson and Wendell Young, among others _ couldn't make it because they have moved into coaching or front-office positions.
One was a no-show for another reason.
"I had a game," Florida right winger Jaromir Jagr said Thursday, smiling.
He has another one tonight, against the Penguins at the BB&T Center at 7:38.
It will be Jagr's 1,657th NHL appearance, fourth-most in league history.
He won't overtake Francis, who is No. 3 and played in 1,731 anytime soon, but then again, Francis didn't spend three winters playing in Russia.
As for the next time those Cup teams get together, Jagr is non-committal about whether he will attend.
Not necessarily because he will be living in his native Czech Republic whenever that happens, however.
"Maybe I'm still going to have a game," Jagr said. "So I don't know."
