Jadon Sancho transfer latest as 'same team' Marcus Rashford post excites Man Utd fans

Jadon Sancho has got Manchester United fans purring after he posted a photo alongside Marcus Rashford on Instagram.

The photo included the captain "If we're all on the same team, we'll never be defeated" as the pair stood in England shirts.

Sancho is a United target this summer with the Red Devils long-term admirers of the young forward.

He has flourished at Borussia Dortmund having previously applied his trade on the blue half of Manchester.

But Sancho was keen to get more game time under his belt and his switch to Germany in 2017 has made him one of the most wanted men in football.

Dortmund are keen to retain their star man and have slapped a hefty £100m price tag on the 20-year-old.

United's valuation of the player is thought to be slightly below that meaning they will have to negotiate if they want to secure Sancho's services.

The London-born star has scored 34 goals in 99 outings for Dortmund during his three years there.

Gareth Southgate has already made the forward a mainstay at international level where he has played alongside Rashford.

Another promising English forward in Mason Greenwood has broken out alongside Rashford at Old Trafford this year.

But that hasn't lessened United's appetite to add another attacking player as they look to close the gap on the Premier League's elite.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side also have the lure of Champions League football having finished third.

But Old Trafford chief Ed Woodward has warned against expecting huge deals this summer as clubs fell the knock on affects of the coronavirus pandemic.

He said: "The ongoing disruption from the pandemic – and the economic pressures it has created – has shown why it is so important for football clubs to focus on their financial stability," he added.

"We are fortunate to have a strong and resilient commercial business which has supported long-term investment in our team. That will continue, albeit with extra caution in the coming months as we navigate our way through this uncertain period."
