Jadon Sancho told what he must do to show Borussia Dortmund form at Manchester United

Jadon Sancho has been told to 'release the handbrake' in an attempt to replicate his best Borussia Dortmund form at Manchester United.

The 21-year-old returned to the Premier League this summer as part of a triple statement of intent from key figures responsible for incomings and outgoings at Old Trafford.

He was followed through those same doors by Raphael Varane and five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo - back for a second act at United after three years with Juventus.

Sancho netted 50 goals and provided 64 assists during his four seasons in Germany butis yet to register a single goal contribution for United - despite appearing nine times for the Old Trafford giants.

Patience will be required for Sancho to underline why United paid such a fee for his services and tracked him for a number of years after he departed neighbours Manchester City in 2017.

But what might prove to be the catalyst for him to replicate those Bundesliga displays on these shores?

How many goals/assists will Sancho provide this season? Have your say in the comments section below.

Before winning his 23rd cap for England against Andorra, in Vella, the United player and his start to life here in the Premier League was one of the main talking points picked up on by former Old Trafford captain Roy Keane and the other pundits in ITV's studio.

Speaking alongside Keane, ex-Premier League striker Jermain Defoe said: "There's been a lot of talk around Sancho. He's only 21, he's come to a different league, a lot of expectation, a big fee, he's joined arguably one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"It's going to take time, of course, but he's one of those players that gets the ball and you're on the edge of your seat, you want him to do something, you want him to take the handbrake off and show us the sort of form that he produced in Germany."
