Jadon Sancho to Liverpool transfer rumours addressed by Dortmund chief amid Manchester United transfer battle

Borussia Dortmund have dismissed speculation linking Jadon Sancho with a summer move to Liverpool and remain confident of retaining him for next season.

Sancho has been strongly linked with Manchester United, and Standard Sport understands the 21-year-old remains Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top target.

Reports this week had suggested Liverpool had joined the race for the England international after missing out on Timo Werner, who is on the verge of joining Chelsea.

But the German outfit, who are understood to have set an asking price of over £100million for the 17-goal forward, have underlined their reluctance to part with Sancho.

"There is no update at all," Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund's head of first-team football, told Sky Germany when asked about his future.

"We’ve had a few issues with Jadon last week, but those have all been solved. Afterwards he’s delivered a great game and has involved himself well. He is extremely important.

"At this moment in time we assume that he will he playing for and staying with Borussia Dortmund for next season.

"As for the rumours [about Liverpool] I believe I can say there’s nothing to them."

Sancho played the full 90 minutes as Dortmund moved within four points of Bayern Munich win a 1-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf.

But the winger had a quiet game as Erling Haaland - another Dortmund star on Man United's list of targets - netted a 95th-minute winner.
