Jadon Sancho to Liverpool? Jurgen Klopp says player would look 'very good' in Reds shirt but plays down move

Jurgen Klopp admits Jadon Sancho "would look very good" in a Liverpool shirt, but insists a deal for the in-demand forward this summer would be "surprising".

The 20-year-old - who has enjoyed a fine season with Borussia Dortmund, both scoring and assisting 20 goals across all competitions - has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United making him their no1 transfer target.

Dortmund expect Sancho to stay at the club, however, with former captain Sebastian Kehl recently commenting that the club were "very happy with the quality that he brings".

And Klopp - whose Liverpool side sealed their first domestic league title for 30 years on Thursday - has played down talk of a summer move.

"A red jersey would look very good on Jadon Sancho," he told Bild. "But I don't think such a transfer will take place this summer.

"He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all."

Despite Liverpool leading Manchester City by 23 points in the Premier League as Klopp's men secured a historic feat this week, the Reds boss also maintains that Pep Guardiola remains the best coach in the world.

"I can't do anything with the title 'best coach in the world,'" he added.

"But I know that together with the whole trainer team we are very good coaches. But I think Pep Guardiola is the best coach of the world."
