Jadon Sancho's sacrifice which helped him become the £100m phenomenon that Chelsea must sign

Jadon Sancho has opened up on the sacrifices he's made in football amid ongoing links to Chelsea and Manchester United.

With 14 goals and 15 assists to his name in the Bundesliga this season, the England international would be a fantastic addition to either club and it's no surprise that his reported price-tag is in the region of £150m.

Having cost Borussia Dortmund in the region of £8m three summers ago, they stand to make a huge profit should they opt to sell him at the end of the season.

Sancho's rise to stardom is a testament to the bold decision he made in 2017 by swapping Manchester City and English football for Germany.

A decision he admits was a risk as it meant leaving his family and friends.

"Another challenge. This one has been the biggest one yet. Living abroad is a whole different game, away from everyone, family, friends," he told the England YouTube channel.

"The sacrifice is deep.

"But, for me at the time, I just felt I was ready to challenge myself and challenge for a place in the first-team and I felt Dortmund was the right place to go at the time.

"Obviously I know their history, they’re bringing through young players and I thought I had a real chance there so I took the opportunity and now, three years later, I’m doing well."

Amid rumours that Sancho is keen on a return to England this summer, these comments are likely to add even more fuel to the fire.

In the eyes of many Chelsea fans, signing the winger would be the dream scenario.

With Willian and Pedro looking certain to leave when their contracts expire, Sancho has almost become somewhat of a priority signing for the Blues as head coach Frank Lampard will need to bolster his options out wide ahead of the 2020/21 season.
