Jadon Sancho's regular contact with Man Utd stars as transfer talks continue

Jesse Lingard has fuelled speculation linking Jadon Sancho with a move to Manchester United by admitting he regularly plays Call of Duty: Warzone with his England teammate.

Borussia Dortmund star Sancho remains at the top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's wishlist this summer.

And while the Premier League club are yet to agree terms with the Bundesliga side, it seems the England star is already getting to know the Red Devils squad.

In an interview with Sporf, Lingard revealed that Sancho is in regular contact with several player including Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba.

Lingard said: "There's quite a few of us to be fair. Marcus [Rashford], Brandon [Williams], [Paul] Pogba, [Jadon] Sancho.

"I play with Dan James every day, so there's quite a few of us that play it quite regularly."

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund remain far apart in their valuation of Sancho as discussions over a summer switch continue.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are hoping to make the 20-year-old their marquee signing at a time when, given the coronavirus pandemic's impact, few other clubs can get near the Bundesliga club's lofty asking price.

But United are not immune to the Covid-19 situation and Dortmund's valuation of Sancho, widely-reported to be 120million euros (£106million), is a key sticking point.

Sources close to the Old Trafford giants have told the PA news agency that there remains a lot of work to do, with the club willing to pursue other alternatives if a deal cannot be reached for the England international.

United were ready to walk away from a deal for Bruno Fernandes in January before eventually striking an agreement with Sporting Lisbon, while sources insist personal terms have yet to be agreed with Sancho.

Solskjaer gave little away when asked about the benefit of getting transfers completed early in the window on Wednesday afternoon.

"This transfer window is a long one and every transfer takes its course," the United boss said as talk about Sancho dominates social media and column inches.

"It is what it is. At the moment, I've got no updates for you anyway, so if there's any news, we'll update you."
