Jadon Sancho's Man Utd transfer in doubt due to 'Borussia Dortmund concerns' with deal

Jadon Sancho's transfer to Manchester United has hit another stumbling block as Borussia Dortmund have reportedly expressed concerns over the structure of the Red Devils' offer.

With just one week remaining until the transfer window slams shut on 5 October, United are ramping up their pursuit of priority target Sancho.

The club is unwilling to meet Dortmund's £108million asking price for the 20-year-old winger and is instead preparing to table a bid of £90million.

But a substantial proportion of the fee is made up of add-ons and bonuses based on the player's performance - which have alarmed the German club's officials.

A number of the add-ons are related to Sancho's performance in the Champions League, according to ESPN , and Dortmund are concerned about United's recent record of qualifying - or failing to qualify - for the competition.

The Red Devils have missed out on Europe's premier club competition three times in the last six seasons and have had a mixed start to the current campaign with one win and one loss.

Nonetheless, United remain determined to try and lure Sancho from Westfalenstadion and personal terms have been agreed with the player's representatives.

Elsewhere, the Red Devils are heavily linked with Porto left-back Alex Telles as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer targets defensive recruitments.

But a fee is yet to be agreed with the Portuguese champions and United face another season with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams as their sole options on the left side of defence if a breakthrough cannot be made.

A number of departures from Old Trafford may also occur before the deadline, with Andreas Pereira and Chris Smalling linked with moves away.

Midfielder Pereira is seen as surplus to requirements after the arrival of Donny van de Beek, while Smalling continues to push for a return to Roma after an impressive loan spell at Stadio Olimpico last season.
