Jadon Sancho's first words as Manchester United player after transfer confirmed

Jadon Sancho cannot wait to get started at Manchester United after he was officially unveiled as the club's second signing of the summer transfer window.

United finally confirmed Sancho's arrival at the club on Friday lunchtime as part of an announcement that was a number of days in the making, following an initial agreement.

The England international has signed a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option for an extra year, after United agreed a £72.9million transfer fee with Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

Sancho, 21, arrived at United’s Carrington training complex last Tuesday for a medical and to shoot the promotional material for his official unveiling, which has finally dropped after some anxious waiting for United fans.

Speaking to United's in-house media, Sancho said: “I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day.

"The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.

"This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve. I am looking forward to working with the manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.”

Upon completion of the deal, Sancho still has some time off to rest following his involvement in the European Championship, but could make his United bow at Old Trafford in their final pre-season friendly against Everton on August 7.

It won't be long before Sancho finally takes to the pitch in the famous red shirt and he says he can't wait to get started to life back in Manchester, four years after he left fierce rivals Man City.
