Jadon Sancho's previous admission about his dream club may alert Chelsea and Manchester United fans.
The Blues have long been tipped to add the winger to their first-team squad, with links stretching all the way back to last summer's transfer window as Roman Abramovich oversaw a £200m+ spending spree.
There has also been talk of Chelsea making a move for Sancho this summer in a bid to reunite him with his former manager at Borussia Dortmund in Thomas Tuchel.
However, whilst the 21-year-old looks set to return to England, it won't be to Stamford Bridge as United are expected to wrap up a deal for the exciting winger.
As revealed by our sister site Manchester Evening News, it's just the structure of the transfer fee that needs to be resolved before United can finally get a deal over the line.
It's understood that United are £8.5million shy of meeting Dortmund's overall valuation for the England international as the Bundesliga outfit are believed to want £6m more up front and an additional £2.5m in add-ons.
With that said, sources close to the player believe United will sort the structure of the payments.
But despite the fact that Sancho is closing in on a move to Man United, it's clear that Chelsea are his dream club as he supported the west London outfit as a child.
"My England hero? I'd probably say Frank Lampard. I was a Chelsea fan growing up, I'm not going to lie," the England international admitted, via talkSPORT.
"Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favourite players at the time. I just loved Frank Lampard, how he played his game, he was so direct and so composed on the ball. I liked things like that."
It's not uncommon for players to represent teams they don't support. And it's not likely to be a factor that could see Man United regret their decision to pursue the England international.
But should Sancho eventually end up at Old Trafford, it's almost certain that Chelsea supporters will make sure they remind their Premier League rivals of these particular comments.
