Jadon Sancho responds to Trent Alexander-Arnold over Liverpool transfer plea

Jadon Sancho has given Liverpool fans plenty to get excited about after responding to transfer comments made by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Reds right-back was doing an Instagram Live with Michael Dapaah in which he was asked about the prospect of Sancho heading to Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold was of course in favour of a move having played with the Borussia Dortmund star with England.

"If he came to us, he’d make our team better," Alexander-Arnold told Dapaah. "So I’d be more than happy for him to come. I played with him for England and he’s a special, special, special, special talent."

Sancho was tuning in to the video and responded with series of eye emojis which suggest he may be open to the move.

Liverpool have always been linked with the 20-year-old and that will only intensify after the player's comments.

Rivals Manchester United and Chelsea are also in the frame with the former having a long standing interest in the forward.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to recruit young, homegrown talent and Sancho perfectly fits the bill.

His rapid rise since moving to Germany has seen his value soar to around £100m.

Dortmund chiefs have reiterated their desire to keep Sancho, who has a contract with the Bundesliga club until 2022.

The current coronavirus pandemic has tested the finances of football clubs meaning transfer spending may be affected.

And United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has told fans that mega-money deals could be beyond them this summer.

He said: "Nobody should be under any illusions about the scale of challenge facing everyone in football and it may not be ‘business as usual’ for any clubs, including ourselves, in the transfer market this summer."

"As ever our priority is the success of team, but we need visibility of the impact across the whole industry, including timings of the transfer window, and the wider financial picture, before we can talk about a return to normality."
