Jadon Sancho leapfrogs Moussa Dembele on Chelsea transfer wishlist as Celtic hero is 'reassessed'

Big-spending Chelsea are rethinking their blockbuster summer transfer strategy amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Frank Lampard's side had been tipped to set the market this summer but that was before COVID-19 took control across the globe.

The Stamford Bridge side were sitting in fourth place in the Premier League before the football lockdown with a host of world stars tipped for a switch to West London.

And high up on any wishlist was Lyon striker Moussa Dembele who was poised to be at the centre of a transfer tug of war for the 218-goal striker with Manchester United and Tottenham also huge admirers of the £60m-rated forward.

But the Daily Mail report Birmingham City's 16-year-old prodigy Jude Bellingham and Dotmund's mercurial Jadon Sancho top Lampard's Chelsea wish with a change in strategy incoming.

They report any move for the Dembele could be "reassessed" with the beautiful game out of commission.

Clubs across the continent are mapping out their signing plans and the Blues have pinpointed English duo Bellingham and Sancho as their two key targets.

Dembele won't be short of suitors and Celtic are set to be in the money if and when he departs France as they retain a sizeable sell-on fee for the player they sold to OL for £19.8m in 2018.

But it remains unclear how the current pandemic alters transfer fees received by clubs with every side in the world feeling the pinch during the current shutdown.
