Jadon Sancho claims he and Bruno Fernandes share same Cristiano Ronaldo quality

Jadon Sancho has said that he and his new teammate Bruno Fernandes share the same quality that Cristiano Ronaldo had as he joined Manchester United.

Sancho arrived at Old Trafford this summer for £73million after being linked with the club for multiple transfer windows, and looks set to make his debut against Leeds this weekend.

The English winger was late to join up with his new side following an extended summer break due to his commitments with the national team, but has began training this week.

And following his move, Sancho has claimed that he and Fernandes have proved that they share the same quality that helped make Ronaldo a legend round Old Trafford.

In a recent interview with Rio Ferdinand for BT Sport, the former United defender commented on how when Ronaldo joined, he went from being a 'flair player' to really executing numbers, and even in training games wanted to be the guy to score the winner.

When asked if this is similar to what Sancho wants to deliver he said: "Yeah, definitely. I can see that in a few of the players like Bruno."

Sancho has already got the United fans excited, as he revealed: "Even today we were on the same team and linking up really well. We love winning so I'm glad we have the same mindset because it's needed."

The new signing reiterated to Ferdinand: "If you want to win things, you have to learn how to win in training, and then in matches. It's important."

Sancho returns to Manchester after originally starting out with rivals Manchester City, but the Englishman left at the age of 17 as he struggled to break into the first team.

Borussia Dortmund signed the teenager for £8million, which was a staggering amount at the time due to Sancho being unproven, but it ended up being a bargain as he went on to make 146 appearances for the German club in all competitions, scoring 54 goals and registering 67 assists.

The winger now returns to the Premier League to prove himself, and he looks set to make his first ever English top-flight appearance on Saturday as United host Leeds at Old Trafford.

However, fellow new signing Raphael Varane will not be available for the Premier League opener, as the Frenchman is still yet to complete his transfer from Real Madrid.

An agreement between United and Madrid was reached at the end of July, but the deal is still yet to be finalised, with Varane still not even training with his new teammates.

It was originally expected that Varane would be announced this week, but following further hold ups in the deal, the Frenchman will have to wait a little longer.
