Jadon Sancho asked about transfer speculation amid Manchester United interest

Jadon Sancho has revealed he doesn't pay attention to transfer speculation amid Manchester United's strong interest in signing him.

The Borussia Dortmund winger is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top transfer target this summer as the Norwegian looks to add more depth and quality to his attack in the hope of mounting a serious Premier League title challenge next season.

However, the saga looks set to rumble on throughout the window as Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc claimed earlier this month that the 20-year-old won't be leaving the club this summer.

United haven't given up on signing him, however, and continue to negotiate with Dortmund and Sancho's representatives, though MEN Sport understands that his wages and the desired agent fees are stumbling blocks - and that's before the matter of the transfer fee is even discussed, with the Bundesliga club believed to be asking for £108million.

As posturing between the two clubs looks set to continue for some time, Sancho has admitted he tries to ignore it all and concentrate on his football.

"I try not to look at the media because I think once you start looking at all that it would be easy to get carried away with it," he told SoccerBible.

"It can affect players. For me it’s about not looking at those things and just focusing on trying to do the best I can on the pitch. Especially in training. For me it’s about improving every single day. It’s important for me to keep a smile on my face and keep happy.

"I don’t really look at all the noise and all that stuff. I’d rather keep my head down, keep focus and improve every day."

Sancho also picked out United striker Mason Greenwood as one of England's best young players, after the 18-year-old scored a massive 17 goals in his first full season in the first team.

"Nah I was gutted," Sancho said when he was asked about the European Championship being pushed back a year. "Obviously I’ve been doing my thing this season and I was ready to go. I don’t mind it being pushed back though.

"I feel like the England squad has a lot of players who are interesting at the moment. It’s going to be interesting to see who makes the squad.

"The players we have now are great and the young players that are coming up now like Bukayo Saka, Mason Greenwood – these guys are talented. It’s interesting to see what they’re doing week in, week out. They’re doing a madness so it’s going to be a very tough decision for Gareth Southgate to make.

"Again it’s healthy competition and you’ve just got to do your thing and everyone is going to be doing their best. It’s exciting to see."
