Jaden Smith reveals worrying toll his restrictive diet had taken on his body

Movie star dad Will and concerned mum Jade were forced to hold an intervention after his skin turned grey and the actor’s weight plummeted

Jaden Smith has revealed the concerning implications his restrictive vegan-then-vegetarian diet had on his body.

His film star dad Will and worried mum Jade have revealed they were forced to hold an intervention for their son in September.

The 21-year-old totally changed his eating habits after starting a new “journey” - but it took its toll on his body before he downgraded to vegetarianism.

His skin started to turn grey as he struggled through life after limiting what he was eating.

Actor Jaden has revealed that it wasn’t only his parents who needed to step in.

He says people on the street were stopping him and offering food as they thought he was seriously unwell.

Appearing alongside his entire family on Facebook Watch's Red Table Talk, they opened up.

Jaden said: “After the last episode, I walk in the street and people are like, "Oh my god! Are you sick? Can I pick you up? Could I get you some water?"

“They come up to me like, ‘You can have my food, man.’.”

Jaden admitted to skipping meals but didn’t blame the lack of animal products in his diet for his health issues.

Mum Jada said earlier this year that the pair had to do something.

Jada said: “Will and I had a bit of an intervention with Jaden because he’s a vegan now, but we realised he wasn’t getting enough protein.

“So he was wasting away. He just looked drained, he was just depleted, he wasn’t getting the nutrients.”

Will, 50, said his son’s appearance was a huge concern.

“There was even a little greyness to his skin. We got really nervous. But you’re definitely looking better now.”
