Jade Thirlwall vows Little Mix reunion ‘if it’s the last thing I do’

Jade Thirlwall has promised fans that Little Mix will one day reunite, it’s just a case of when.

The 32-year-old singer shot to fame as one quarter of the chart-topping girlband after they were formed on ITV talent show The X Factor back in 2011.

They went on to become one of the UK’s most successful girl groups of all time with five number one singles including Wings, Black Magic and Shout Out to My Ex plus six top-five albums and a BRIT Award for Best British Group in 2021.

Although Jesy Nelson quit in 2020, Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock continued until 2022 when they announced a hiatus to pursue solo projects.

Thirlwall addressed the future of the group while promoting her debut solo album That’s Showbiz Baby!, which is due to be released on September 27.

“There will be a Little Mix reunion if it’s the last thing I do,” she told Capital Buzz, adding: “You know it doesn’t matter how long that takes.”

Edwards recently revealed she is pregnant with her second child with fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Each of the girls have been busy focusing on their solo endeavours. For Thirwall’s part, she describes her upcoming collection as her most personal work to date.

But the road to release has not been smooth. The South Shields-born star admitted she was left “devastated” when unfinished tracks from the album leaked online.

“Honestly anyone who leaks an artist’s music deserves to walk on Lego every day of their lives,” she said. “It is theft, and it’s so frustrating there’s not enough done about it.

“You work so hard on that music and it’s even worse when it’s a demo version, or not even finished. Someone is putting out your art without your approval, and it’s not fair on other writers or producers either.

“This is why I stuck with my album and didn’t change it. Why should I have to start again because you’ve stolen something from me?”
