Jade Thirlwall sparks huge reaction with moving 'self loathing' Instagram post

Jade Thirlwall has sparked a big reaction with a candid Instagram post she's made about 'self loathing.'

The Little Mix star has been very open about her mental health struggles over the past few months, revealing that she'd battled anxiety during the early stages of lockdown.

And late on Wednesday night South Shields singer Jade took to Instagram to post a poem she'd written which offered an insight into how she's feeling.

She uploaded a picture of her words with no caption and it read: "Insecurity is unattractive

"Yet my mind keeps trying to act ugly

"Using self terroristic tactics

"Til I self implode

"I'm my own worst enemy

"But I wasn't the first

"I've realised the self-loathing isn't self-taught

"But rather drilled into me

"By an army of insecure adults projecting onto a child

"Conditioned to be a patient of patriarchal society

"And it takes more than an insta quote or an occasional affirmation

"To unpick being picked apart"

"F***ing hell

"Isn't loving yourself really an art?"

Jsde's Instagram post has seen her come in for praise from friends and fans and, at the time of writing, it had been liked well over 115,000 times.

Fellow South Shields lass and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards commented: "This is So relatable my baby girl," and Little Mix bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock reacted: "Beautiful your amazing x"

A fan responded: "Loving yourself is an art, but you are so loved and I hope you know that" and another replied: "You are an inspiration."

Jade's moving post came on the same day that she was unveiled as Honorary President of South Shields FC. Speaking about her new role, proud Mariners supporter said: "“I’m so grateful to be asked to be the Honorary President of South Shields Football Club.

“I’m incredibly proud to come from South Shields and one thing I am most proud of about my hometown is the sense of community and how we love to support each other and see each other do well in all aspects of life, which is something the football club very much embodies.

“I hope through my role I can raise awareness and increase the club’s profile, encouraging others to do the same and support our incredible team.
