Jade Thirlwall says nasty fallout with Simon Cowell label 'f**ked over' Little Mix

Jade Thirwill has claimed that a nasty fallout with Simon Cowell's music label had a lasting impact on Little Mix.

The singer, 27, opened up about the band's changing label's and managers, and revealed that herself and her fellow band mates, Perri Edwards, Leigh Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson, felt they couldn't be as feminist in their music as they wanted to be.

During the making of their LM5 album in 2018, the girl band were forced to switch labels to RCA after a rather bad fallout with The X Factor judge’s Syco.

Opening up about the difficult time, Jade, 27 admitted that it had a huge effect on the band and completely "f***ed them over".

Delving into why the girls didn't share empowering female messages in their music, Jade admitted to POPline that the switch of labels during the making of their album made it extremely difficult.

She admitted: "We did a little bit but we had a switch of labels during the LM5 process and that really f***ed us over.

"It was harder to put all our creativity out there in the way we would have liked. The LM5 album was very heavily on women’s rights and our experiences in the industry".

According to reports, Little Mix called out manager Simon Cowell in a defiant email over writing credits.

After this, their relationship with the X Factor mogul took another turn for the worst when Simon decided to cut all ties with the first band to ever win the iconic singing competition.

Little Mix, who won the X Factor back in 2011, have been going from strength to strength ever since, and insist that they are doing just fine while standing on their own feet without the help of Simon.

Speaking to The Sun Online, Jade insisted that the girls are happier and feeling more successful than ever.

The band, who won The X Factor in 2011, now insist they are in a good place.

"We’re sort of cruising at the moment. That period in our careers was quite troublesome. I feel like now we’re in a good place — we’re with RCA and we’re working on a new record, which is really exciting.

"We’ve learnt to really stick to our guns and do what we believe in".

And it doesn't stop there, as the girls have won the race against Simon with the launch of their brand new singing competition, The Search, which rivals Simon's X Factor.

The group will mentor a wave of new talent, in a bid to find a new boy, girl or mixed-sex band.

The new bands will be doing what the girls have been doing for years and perform live and collaborate with songwriters, producers and stylists.
