Jade Goody 'would have wanted' Jack Tweed to move on, says mum on Good Morning Britain

Jade Goody 'would have wanted' Jack Tweed to move on, says mum Jackey as she appeared on Good Morning Britain on the tenth anniversary of her daughter's death.

Jade, a mum-of-two who became a household name when she entered Big Brother in 2002, was just 27 years old when she passed away following a battle with cervical cancer.

Jackey Budden, who was interviewed on the ITV programme on Friday alongside Jade's widower Jack, made her comment after Jack opened up about not being able to move on and find love again.

The young couple married after Jade was told she had months to live on February 27 2009, just a month before her tragic passing.

Speaking to GMB hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard, Jack said: "I did try and move on, but I think I sort of rushed into it, and was trying to look for a replacement and it didn't seem to work.

"It wasn't the right thing.

"I can't really, I don't really have that feeling, the same feeling that I had for Jade, I can't really feel that for anyone else.

"So I don't think it's the right thing to do to get into a relationship."

But Jackey, 61, turned to him and said: "You have to, she'd want you to."

She then added: "She would love Jack to be happy and have someone, she would.

"She'd like you to have children and have someone."

Recalling their wedding day, an emotional Jackey said: "They never had a wedding life. If she was here now life would be very different."

Following her cervical cancer diagnosis in 2008, Jade raised awareness of cervical cancer and the importance of attending smear tests.

She sadly passed eight months later from the disease that had spread to her liver, groin and bowel but was hailed by cancer organisations for prompting an increase in people seeking information about the disease.

Around half a million more women attended the tests in the month after her death, however, statistics have shown that smear test rates had hit a 20 year low.

In Manchester alone, more than 200,000 people have missed their smear tests .

Jade is survived by young sons Bobby and Freddy who she shared with ex-partner Jeff Brazier.
