The bridesmaids of late reality star Jade Goody opened up about her final days and her last-minute wedding to Jack Tweed.
Close friends Kelly Wyatt, Jennifer Smith, Charlene Steele and Caroline Silverstein shared memories 10 years after the death of the Big Brother contestant - who lost her battle with cervical cancer on 22 March 2009 aged just 27.
The band of friends promised the tragic star that they would take care of her two sons, Bobby and Freddie, who were just five and four years old when their mother died.
While the boys now live with their father, Jeff Brazier, 39, the ladies said they kept their promise and frequently give the lads lifts in their cars, text them caring messages - and even take the mickey out of them in front of their friends.
Jade married Jack, 31, on 22 February 2009 - exactly one month before she lost her battle with the cruel disease - and her bridesmaids revealed in March 2019 that Jack was no longer part of Bobby and Freddie's lives (who are now 15 and 14).
They also explained that on their wedding day, Jack left Jade while her illness left her bedridden and partied with his friends.
Caroline, 38, remembers Jade giving all she could on the day, telling The Sun: "She was dancing on the tables at the reception when the doctors had told her to be in her wheelchair. She gave everything to that day."
She then remembers carrying Jade to bed alongside Charlene and Jade's mum Jackiey Budden, 60.
"Jade said, 'Don't let anyone know I've gone. Don't let anyone see me leave'. Jack came up briefly. Jade was out of it and asleep. I told her the next day he'd stayed with her all night, she didn't need to know any different."
Jennifer added: "He was drinking and dancing. He stayed out late with the boys," going on to explain that Jack apparently "pushed his pals around in her wheelchair".
The ladies sadly recall they never saw Jade recover, with Caroline saying: "Jade went downhill. She was so ill the next day, she went home and never left again."
Jennifer went on to reveal Jeff tried to maintain a friendship for his boys with Jack, but said: "They don't see each other now and we haven't really spoken to Jack."
Jennifer suggests Jeff is 'protecting' his boys by cutting out Jack - while Caroline thinks the reality star has "grown up" since his wedding day and thinks he would like to see the boys.
