Jada Pinkett Smith opens up about her alopecia struggle as she embraces hair loss

Jada Pinkett Smith has opened up about her struggles with alopecia in an honest video.

Will Smith's wife, 50, talked about her hair loss on Instagram on Wednesday.

She began: "Now at this point I can only laugh," adding: "Now, ya'll know I've been struggling with alopecia."

"And just all of a sudden one day," she continued as she pointed the top of her head towards the camera.

Jada added: "Look at this line right here. Look at that. Mama's gonna put some rhinestones in there and I'm just gon' make me a little crown."

The doting mum-of-two looked incredible as she showed off her makeup free face, which had a subtle, natural glow.

She remained positive about the situation as she revealed she is going to hide the linear patch on her scalp.

Jada first announced she had the autoimmune disorder back in 2018 and has previously spoken about shaving her hair off.

She said on an episode of her Red Table Talk show: "For me, it was a mixture of a spiritual calling and also going, 'At some point, your hairline is going to be back here...so we might as well just do it now'."

The actress was inspired by her daughter Willow, 21, and mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, 68, to rock the bald look.

Jada was inundated with praise after shaving her head back in the summer as she opted for a dramatic new look.

She claimed that her daughter 'made her do it' as she confidently showed off her new style.

In the cute snap, which Jada and Willow both shared on social media, the edgy mother and daughter duo both rocked their shaved hair as they gazed at the camera in a tender moment.

"Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed," Jada shared alongside the snap.

On Willow's page, the singer added: "A gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return."
