Jada Pinkett Smith has shared a glamorous new picture of herself showing off her shaven head to celebrate National Bald is Beautiful Day.

The move comes almost six months after her husband Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock on live TV at the Oscars for making a joke about her shaven head.

"Happy Bald is Beautiful day to all my brothers and sisters with no hair," the 50-year-old actress wrote alongside the image.

The snap showed her in a silky, champagne-coloured top, diamond earrings, deep red lipstick and dramatic eyelash extensions.

The Round Table talk host, who has shaved her hair off due to alopecia - an auto-immune illness that causes hairloss - which she was diagnosed with in 2018, has not highlighted her hair or the illness since the incident between her husband and the comedian.

Back in March, Rock was presenting the Best Documentary award at the Oscars when he singled out the actress who was in the audience supporting Smith, who was up for Best Actor for his role in bio-pic King Richard.

"Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can't wait to see it,' he said, referring to the 1997 Demi Moore film G.I. Jane in which she had a bald head.

Cameras showed Pinkett Smith rolling her eyes after the joke and when they cut back to Rock, Smith got up from his seat, stormed the stage and slapped Rock across the face.

The stunned comedian said: "Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me" before the actor started yelling from his seat, "Keep my wife's name out your f*****g mouth!"

While Smith went on to win his first Oscar at the ceremony, his faced serious public backlash for his actions.

The call for him to face the consequences of his actions, led to him resigning from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy barring him from all their events for the next 10 years.

The father-of-three apologised weeks later on Facebook and Instagram, stating, "I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris.

"I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."

He also recently aplogised in a YouTube video.

Pinkett first addressed the slap on her Red Table Talk show in early June, urging Rock and Smith to "talk it out".

Rock, meanwhile, has made vartious jokes about the incident on his comedy tour and indicated that he has no interest in a face to face with Smith.
