Jada and Will Smith denied claims he was left in tears after catching her with Marc Anthony

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith were forced to issue strong statements about their marriage nine years ago following rumours he'd caught her with another man.

Back in 2011, the couple found themselves at the centre of a headline-grabbing scandal after America's InTouch magazine printed a bombshell story.

The report alleged the Hollywood actor had been left in tears after returning home to find Jada with Latin pop star Marc Anthony, who was married to Jennifer Lopez at the time.

Anthony was Jada's co-star in TV drama Hawthorne, in which they played onscreen lovers.

Both Will, 51, and Jada, 48, issued statements insisting their marriage was still in tact, with Jada also strongly denying allegations of an affair with Marc.

Her spokesperson said: "All the rumours regarding Marc Anthony and Jada are false. Completely untrue.

"As for [the reports of a split between] Will and Jada, I'm not commenting on their personal life."

Will's rep added: "Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumours circulating about our relationship are completely false.

"We are still together, and our marriage is intact."

August Alsina claims he had an affair with Will Smith's wife Jade

Marc split from his wife Jennifer a month before the story was published.

Will and Jada's marriage hit headlines again this week after singer August Alsina, 27, alleged he was given permission to have an affair with Jada by her husband.

Speaking in a YouTube interview with Angela Yee, he claimed: "I actually sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership...

"He gave me his blessing."

"When asked about the alleged affair with Jada, August said: "I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her.

"I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it - so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody."

The couple, who married in 1997, have denied August's claims with Will's representatives telling The Sun the accusations are "wrong".

Meanwhile Jada's people told Page Six it's "absolutely not true".

She wrote on Twitter on Thursday night: "There’s some healing that needs to happen... so I’m bringing myself to The Red Table."
