Jacqueline Jossa unveils painful injury after slicing thumb open with a bread knife

Jacqueline Jossa has suffered a painful injury in the kitchen.

The mother-of-two, 28, took to her Instagram Story on Thursday to share with her fans that she 'sawed' into her thumb with a bread knife while juggling parenting duties.

Former EastEnders actress Jac told that she decided to share what happened after she was quizzed by her eagle-eyed fans as to why she had a plaster on her thumb.

She said in the footage: "For those who keep asking why I have a hideous plaster on my thumb.

"I cut my thumb open, didn’t I, sliced it open cutting the dog food up with a bread knife!"

Detailing how the horrifying accident happened, the I'm A Celeb winner continued: "You may ask why did I cut dog food up with a bread knife, that is a good f***ing question.

"With the answer of, well I was using the bread knife to cut bagels and I then I thought I haven’t done the dog food yet and I’m going to need to wash this anyways so I will quickly use it."

Telling on how it was the wrong decision, she added: "It was a stupid idea and I ended up hacking at my thumb, proper sawing in."

Jacqueline and her former TOWIE star husband Dan Osborne recently welcomed a new addition to their family.

They became owners of a cute pup - but they faced backlash after they travelled amid the lockdown to visit the four-legged friend at the breeder.

However, the couple's journey was not deemed to be breaking lockdown rules, according to police.

Last week, the pair were met with false allegations that they'd broken lockdown rules by travelling to Yorkshire to see a puppy in an eight-hour round trip.

Police later told The Mirror that a probe conducted between Essex and Humberside departments found the journey was for legitimate business purposes and didn't breach of the rules.

A statement from Humberside Police explained: "On Friday 19 February, we were made aware of reports of an alleged breach of coronavirus regulations.

"Working alongside our colleagues from Essex Police, the claims were thoroughly investigated and a number of enquiries were carried out. Officers have spoken to those involved.

"It was found that those concerned had travelled for legitimate business purposes and no breaches were found to be committed."

Dan took to Instagram recently to address criticism aimed at him and Jacqueline, and to explain why their journey didn't flout the regulations.

Jac said it was a "stupid idea" (jacjossa/Instagram)

He said he travels up and down the country for work, and as he was in such close proximity to the dog breeder, he decided to call in and assess whether the dog, a Rottweiler, would be suitable for his young children.

Jacqueline and their daughters Ella and Mia were with him at the time.

Hitting back at critics, Dan said on Instagram: "I was out working and stopped off and saw a puppy. It's not a big deal.

"It's not like, 'Oh my god I'm breaking the law.' Jesus Christ it's ridiculous.

"Go f*** yourself! You don't know me. I don't know you. You wouldn't say it to my face. So don't say it over social media."

He added: "Now if I did just go and buy a big dog and didn't meet it and had it in the house with the kids without meeting it I would stick and people saying 'why are you buying a Rottweiler without letting it see your kids first?'. So I can't win in this situation.

"We went outside, looked at a puppy and then drove home. We were in a car, we are not causing any problem to anyone else.

"There is no problem with what I did. I don't know why Total K9 [the dog breeder] have had the police down there, it's ridiculous."
