Jacqueline Jossa 'in talks to replace Michelle Keegan on BBC's Our Girl'

Jacqueline Jossa is reportedly 'in talks' to replace Michelle Keegan in BBC military drama Our Girl.

The 27-year-old actress, who was crowned the Queen of the Jungle on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, is thought to be in 'advanced talks' with the Beeb.

Jacqueline is well known to the BBC after playing Lauren Branning in EastEnders and after former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan quit the drama, producers want to turn to Jacqueline.

Michelle had cited the filming in South Africa as one of the main reasons to leave the show, wanting more time with her husband Mark Wright in the UK.

Jacqueline spent most of December in Australia for I'm A Celeb and is reportedly not phased by leaving hubby Dan Osbourne and her family behind to film the drama.

She could become the second Walford favourite to take on the role after it was originally played by Lacey Turner.

A source told The Sun that Jacqueline is "keen to replace Michelle on Our Girl" and that Lacey has been a driving force in encouraging her to go for the role.

The source continued to say that the BBC "want a mainstream signing and feel the Queen Of The Jungle fits the bill perfectly."

It has been reported that the new series hasn't yet been agreed and no contracts have been signed but Jacqueline is thought to be "in a good position to bag it if it all goes ahead."

A source close to the actress added that there had been "a lot of projects, both screen and stage, have been keen to discuss [with her]."

Michelle has finished filming her fourth and final outing as Georgie, the British Army medic.

It is due to air later this year and Michelle said about the experience: "I’ve had the most incredible four years on the show and I want to thank the BBC for giving me such an amazing opportunity."
