Dan Osborne furiously rushed to defend himself over Chloe Ayling's allegations that they enjoyed an illicit hotel romp with Celebrity Big Brother co-star Natalie Nunn.
"No matter how much they try breaking us, we are and will always remain a team," said Dan after saying he would be taking
Mum-of-two Jacqueline remains totally unaware of the furore that's kicked off on the outside as she continues on I'm A Celeb.
In rather awkward timing she was seen in the jungle crying over her letter from Dan, saying it was 'just what she needed.'
And it's not the first time Jacqueline has opened up about her romance with Dan during her time in Australia.
She gave a rare insight into their marriage - but fans might be surprised that she failed to mention the drama surrounding their first few months as a couple.
Jac and Dan have had far from an easy ride throughout their relationship, with ex-TOWIE's Dan over the years - all of which he's strenuously denied.
They even temporarily split last year when Jacqueline was pregnant with their second daughter, Mia, with Dan moving out of the family home because he was sick of their arguments .
"The way I look at life is every day spent unhappy is a wasted day, and we were both having a lot of unhappy days. I still obviously care for Jacqueline but if we can’t make each other happy then we shouldn't stay together. Life is too short," he said at the time.
But even at the beginning of their six-year romance, the pair faced serious strife.
Dan had recently left his ex Megan Tomlin, who at the time was pregnant with his eldest child, son Teddy, and was splitting his time between each woman's home.
When Jacqueline announced her pregnancy in August 2014 - weeks after they went public - it wasn't long before Megan was getting her ex into hot water.
Just before Christmas 2014, she Instagrammed - then deleted - a series of messages aimed at Jac and Dan, who at that point was staying in Liverpool for panto.
"Lesson in life 1 - If you don't want to be a single mum don't PLAN a pregnancy without the guy knowing," Megan allegedly wrote before taking down the posts.
"2 (rewind a year to when I was pregnant) a good person doesn't get involved with a guy who came out of a relationship after a matter of weeks and has a baby on the way.
"3 Rebound relationships never last. Finally have a lovely time in Liverpool in the bed I was in just last week (mind you wouldn't be the last time you've tried jumping in my place," she added.
Ouch.
The rocky romance was rocked again in 2015 when recordings of Osborne, believed to have been taken in 2014, emerged of him threatening Megan with violence if she moved on with another man - despite him very much being with Jacqueline at the time.
"I swear on this boy's life I will end your f**king life if you shag another man. Never in your f**king life are you going to be with another man. I can swear on my son's life," Dan was heard telling his ex, who pointed out it was "funny" he could have a baby with another woman but she couldn't move on.
"It won't be funny when you're in hospital," he replied.
A police investigation was launched but later dropped, and Dan issued a semi-apology in his VT when he went into the Celebrity Big Brother house.
"Most people say things when they're angry that they never mean and I said something that I never meant. I'm embarrassed by it. It was just a horrible time," he said.
Jacqueline later spoke about the effect the recordings had on Dan's career, as he was dropped from TOWIE and job opportunities dried up as brands didn't want to associate with him.
But there was no mention of their chequered past when to Adele Roberts and Nadine Coyle on last night's I'm A Celerity.
"We used to hang out but not flirty, we are really tactile now but at the beginning I was, like, goofy, but I fancied him and liked him but it was hard to tell," she told the girls.
"I was recently single and going on a singles night at work and we were texting through the night and I told him where I was and he sent a shocked face and said, 'Oh no, a single's night, I'll have to get in there quick."
She went on: "He then said he would come and pick me up, I was so nervous but the second I spoke to him we really got on, had the best night and were laughing and joking the whole time.
"In the car on the way home he texted me to say he felt so lucky to have met me, he'd had the best few days and felt he'd fallen for me already. I was in the back of the car thinking, 'he's so fit and he likes me!' And from there we got on and liked each other, it was really cute," she added.
