Jaquelin Roy recognized as a potential rookie impact player by ESPN

Louis Riddick does an exercise where he goes through all 32 NFL teams and picks his favorite non-first-round selections in the latest draft. Last season, Riddick chose Ed Ingram for the Minnesota Vikings. While Ingram didn’t have the best rookie campaign, he showed improvement as the year went on.

Riddick chose to focus on the other side of the trenches with his latest Minnesota draft darling. Riddick chose LSU defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy as his potential impact player.

Riddick proclaimed during draft season that Roy had the potential to make an impact as soon as his rookie year.

With Flores at the helm, we can expect a much more aggressive style of play from every level of the defense. And that starts up front. With the power and strength that Roy possesses, he can have an immediate impact on the interior. If you don’t believe me, ask VikingsWire’s own Tyler Forness.

With the versatility to play a 5T all the way to a 0T nose, Roy could have a major impact in year one.
