Jacob Wohl claims no women were offered money to smear Robert Mueller

His Robert Mueller smear campaign falling apart before his own eyes, pro-Trump Twitter troll Jacob Wohl falsely insisted Thursday that he has not offered to pay women to accuse the special counsel of sexual misconduct, as one of Mueller's supposed victims was a no-show at a bizarre news conference at a Virginia hotel.

Wohl _ appearing alongside discredited right-wing conspiracy theorist Jack Burkman at a Holiday Inn in Rosslyn, Va. _ claimed a woman named Carolyne Cass didn't show up to face reporters because she's supposedly scared for her life in light of accusing Mueller of raping her in New York City several years ago.

"She has been ruthlessly attacked," said Wohl, a 20-year-old disgraced financier turned far-right conspiracy theorist. "She has been made to look like someone who took payment."

Wohl then claimed he had not offered anyone cash to smear Mueller _ but the New York Daily News has obtained emails that directly contradict that.

"There were no offers of payment," Wohl said. "There was nothing illegal or untoward going on here."

Surefire Intelligence _ a self-professed "private intel agency" that Wohl has admitted to running _ sent an email to Jennifer Taub on Oct. 22, in which an employee identified as Simon Frick offered to "compensate" Taub "at whatever rate you see fit" to discuss her "past encounters" with Mueller.

Taub, a Vermont Law School professor and author, told The News she has never met Mueller. She also said she forwarded Surefire Intelligence's unsolicited email to the special counsel's office, which called on the FBI earlier this week to investigate allegations that women have been offered cash to fabricate sexual assault claims against Mueller.
