Jacob Stockdale signs new three-year deal with Ireland and Ulster

Jacob Stockdale has signed a new three-year contract with the IRFU and Ulster.

The 23-year-old winger has become a key man for Ireland, scoring 16 tries in his 26 Test matches to date.

He made his Ulster debut in January 2016 against Benetton and has scored 27 tries for the province in 63 appearances.

The news comes just a day after James Ryan signed a new three-year deal with the IRFU and Leinster.

On signing his new contract, Stockdale said: "I am delighted to have signed an IRFU contract.

"I am involved with two ambitious squads and I know I will continue to develop as a player in both environments."

David Nucifora, IRFU Performance Director added: "Jacob has continued to grow as a player after bursting onto the scheme in his debut Six Nations season.

"He has performed at a consistently high level for both Ireland and Ulster and has huge potential to develop further on the international stage."
