Jacob Stockdale reverts to full-back for Ulster in PRO14 clash with Dragons

Jacob Stockdale is back in the Ulster line-up for tomorrow night's clash with the Dragons after failing to make Ireland's matchday squad against Scotland.

Stockdale was recalled to the Ireland squad last week after making his comeback from a knee injury but will line out for his province against Dragons at the Principality Stadium (7.35pm).

Dan McFarland has named a side that has four changes to the line-up from the one that lost to Leinster last Saturday, as well as two positional changes, as the Ulster coaches begin preparations for the Challenge Cup knock-out stages now that their PRO14 final hopes are gone.

With Stockdale reverting to full-back, Michael Lowry moves to fly-half and will be partnered by Alby Mathewson.

Stockdale will be joined on the wings by Rob Lyttle and Craig Gilroy. Stewart Moore comes in to partner Stuart McCloskey in midfield.

In the front row, Ross Kane comes in to start at tight head, joining John Andrew at hooker and Eric O’Sullivan at loose head.

Last week’s second row pairing of Alan O’Connor and Kieran Treadwell remains in place, with O’Connor named as skipper.

Academy back row, David McCann is named at blindside flanker, along with Sean Reidy at openside and Nick Timoney at no 8.

Ulster: Jacob Stockdale, Craig Gilroy, Stewart Moore, Stuart McCloskey, Rob Lyttle, Michael Lowry, Alby Mathewson; Eric O'Sullivan, John Andrew, Ross Kane, Alan O'Connor (C), Kieran Treadwell, David McCann, Sean Reidy, Nick Timoney.

Replacements : Brad Roberts, Callum Reid, Gareth Milasinovich, Cormac Izuchukwu, Matty Rea, David Shanahan, Ian Madigan, Ethan McIlroy.
