Jacob Murphy speaks about 'togetherness' at Newcastle United after climbing away from trouble

Jacob Murphy believes Newcastle United can now see their path to Premier League survival after their 2-1 win at Burnley.

The former Norwich City star was one of the heroes at Turf Moor after slamming home the equaliser to haul his team back into contention on Sunday afternoon.

Murphy then watched on as Allan Saint-Maximin turned from provider to goalscorer to earn a fantastic victory in Lancashire and make it two games unbeaten following the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Murphy said: "The past two results have given us a platform to get away from the relegation zone.

"It's a group that's together.

"We're a confident group."

Murphy feels his team-mates carried on where they left off against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, despite a testing start against Sean Dyche's side.

He said: "We saw in last week's game against Spurs a doggedness and resilience about us, and we showed that again."

And reflecting on his equalising goal against the Clarets, Murphy added: "Allan just laid the ball into my path and I made a clean contact."
