If Houston Texans fans aren’t excited for second-round cornerback Lonnie Johnson, they should reconsider.
Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey took to Twitter after the Texans picked up Johnson at 54th overall in Round 2 of the 2019 NFL draft Friday and expressed his support.
Ramsey likes what he sees in the newest Texans cornerback. The Texans front office led by Brian Gaine and coaching staff led by Bill O’Brien would love for Johnson to have a similar career as Ramsey. At a minimum, getting the love from Ramsey has to make Johnson feel special.
Johnson has all the ability to be a solid press cover corner in the NFL. In 2019, Johnson will get his opportunity to shine, maybe twice a year with Ramsey watching from the Jacksonville sideline.
