Jacksonville Jaguars Announce Two Contract Extensions

The Jaguars extended the contracts of two key players from the 2022 season before they become unrestricted free agents, the team announced on Sunday.

One of the players is defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris. He’s played in Jacksonville for the past two seasons after four years with the Bears. He’s started in 30 of a possible 34 games over the past two seasons. In the 2022 season, Robertson-Harris recorded a career-high 40 tackles, with 23 of those being of the solo variety. He also registered three sacks last season.

Robertson-Harris’s deal is reportedly for three years and $30 million, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The Jaguars also extended running back JaMycal Hasty after one season with the team. He previously played for the 49ers for two seasons. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Jaguars this past season, along with the team’s two playoff games.

Hasty enjoyed career highs with 320 scrimmage yards, 194 rushing yards, 46 carries and two rushing touchdowns. The running back served as Travis Etienne’s primary backup. Contract terms have nnot been reported.

The Jaguars finished the regular season atop the AFC South standings at 9–8. They made the playoffs for the first time since 2017, beating the Chargers in the wild-card round but losing to the Chiefs in the divisional round.
