TEAM NEEDS

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Offensive Tackle

Cam Robinson tore his ACL early last season, but the 2018 second-round pick has the potential to develop into a long-term starter at left tackle if he recovers well. Jacksonville’s right tackle situation is in dire need of upgrade, though. Former Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick Cedric Ogbuehi signed a cheap deal with the team, but he’s far from a long-term solution. With Nick Foles now under center, expect the Jags to prioritize surrounding him with talent on offense in the draft, and that means investing in an offensive tackle early.

Tight End

Of the four tight ends currently on the Jaguars’ roster, zero of them have ever had more than 250 receiving yards in a single season. Even if they re-sign Austin Seferian-Jenkins – who only played in five games last year due to injury – they could still use a reliable weapon at the tight end position. Considering how stacked to the brim the 2019 draft class is with talented tight ends, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Jaguars capitalize on it by selecting one within the first two days of the draft.

Safety

After releasing Tashaun Gipson to free up cap room, the Jaguars found themselves with a pretty sizable hole at free safety – arguably their only major defensive need. With the defensive line like the one they have, most defensive backs would do well taking advantage of hurried throws, but adding a rangy safety who can efficiently cover his half of the field would add another layer of danger to Jacksonville’s already loaded defense.
