Jacksonville and Jags’ mascot take shots at Sam Darnold with ghost jokes

New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold entered this week looking to move past his sideline statements about “seeing ghosts” but evidently the city of Jacksonville and the Jaguars don’t want to let him off the hook that easy.

Prior to the kickoff of Sunday’s game, someone evidently couldn’t resist taking a shot at Darnold, as a banner was spotted flying over TIAA Bank Field that read “Gardner Minshew ain’t afraid of no ghosts.”

Unfortunately for Darnold, the jokes didn’t stop there.

Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville seemingly couldn’t resist himself either as he came showed up on the field dressed as a ghost, according to Connor Hughes of The Athletic.

As most are aware, Darnold made the comments about seeing ghosts on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” which were caught being that he was mic’d up for the nigh. Now, it appears the city of Jacksonville is simply pulling out all the stops to keep Darnold off his game as the Jags are just one game away from entering the mid-way point .500.
