Jackson Irvine nears Hibs transfer as Jack Ross closes in on former Celtic man

Hibs are closing in on a deal to bring Jackson Irvine back to Scotland.

The Australian international has been a free agent since he left Hull City in the summer.

Jack Ross is hoping to seal a move for the robust midfielder, with the player expected to go through a medical with the Easter Road club.

The 27-year-old came through the ranks at Celtic but spent most of his time there out on loan at Kilmarnock and Ross County.

He made a permanent move to Ross County, where he helped them to lift the League Cup, before he moved to England for spells with Burton Albion and then Hull City.

Hibs have already signed keeper Matt Macey from Arsenal and are also trying to close a deal to sign Chris Cadden from Columbus Crew.

The former Motherwell winger is keen to move back home to Scotland due to a lack of game time at the MLS champions.
