DETROIT _ Reggie Jackson scored six of his team-high 24 points in overtime to send the Detroit Pistons to a 113-106 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night at Little Caesars Arena.
A late lineup of Gatorade League-level players for the tanking Mavericks was able to force overtime.
But Jackson pick-and-rolls were able to keep the Pistons' goal of finishing .500 alive with three games remaining.
Jackson was 11-for-18 from the field and added seven assists, as the Pistons moved to 6-3 since the point guard returned after missing 37 games with a severe right ankle sprain.
Andre Drummond added 19 points, 16 rebounds and five assists for the Pistons (38-41).
With Reggie Bullock shut down for the rest of the season with a sore left knee, Langston Galloway was thrust back into the rotation and he scored 15 points on 5-for-14 shooting.
Anthony Tolliver added 16 points.
Jonathan Motley, playing only his ninth game, scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Mavericks (24-56).
Jackson missed a runner at the buzzer, sending the game into overtime.
Blake Griffin missed his fifth game with a right ankle bruise.
The Pistons were eliminated from playoff consideration with Wednesday night's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers at Little Caesars Arena.
