When Jackass first landed on our screens 20 years ago, many viewers could not believe it was allowed to air.
The controversial comedy series featured a group of mates getting up to all sorts of indecent activities that had us in stitches.
First airing in October 2000, Johnny Knoxville led his brave band of brothers into a series of dangerous pranks, which viewers were heavily warned not to attempt at home with their famous skull and crutches logo.
Discussing the show, then MTV President Van Toffler said: "We just knew there were a bunch of knuckleheads out there who had a very high tolerance for stupidity and pain."
At the time, the show was blamed by some for a number of injuries and deaths involving teens and kids who tried to recreate the stunts.
Some of their most risky stunts included Steve-O walking a tightrope over alligators, putting a fish hook through his mouth to fish for sharks and Knoxville shooting up into the sky in a rocket that partially exploded.

After three wild seasons of injuries, vomiting and a lot of poo the show came to and end in February 2002.
But there have been a number of spin-off series, including Wildboyz with Steve-O and Chris Pontius and Bam Vagera's Viva La Bam.
At the time, the programme was blamed for a number of deaths and injuries involving teens and children recreating the stunts.
Most of the gang will be back once again for Jackass 4, which has been delayed until September 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but promises to be another debauchery-filled ride.
Be warned, this article does contain disgusting details of some of the pranks featured in the show, so maybe don't read this while you are eating your breakfast.
Here is a look at what has happened to the stars of Jackass since it first aired.
Johnny Knoxville

There would be no Jackass without the main man - Johnny Knoxville.
The group's ringleader was the creative genius behind the show as got involved in some incredibly deadly sunts.
As well as pranks, Johnny has a solid acting career, appearing as a two-headed alien in Men in Black II in 2002 and 200 movie Coyote Ugly.
He had a lead role in The Dukes of Hazzard film, voiced Leonardo in the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in 2014 and played a pensioner in Jackass Presents: Bad Grampa.
Knoxville was writer and producer of 2018 comedy Action Point and has the same role on the new Jackass 4 movie.
In 2009, the father-of-three explained how he tore his urethra during a stunt for Nitro Circus.
After the injury he was forced to "stick a tube into his penis all the way up to his bladder" twice a day for three and a half years.
Steve-O
Steve-O is considered by many to be the most daring and insane member of the group due to some of his outrageous stunts.
Real name Stephen Gilchrist GLover, London-born Steve-O became an instant hit on Jackass but has got into trouble over the years for some of his pranks.
He was once arrested for stapling his scrotum to his leg and in a separate incident for urinating on potato chips in public during a concert.
Following Jackass, Steve-O starred in spin-off Wildboyz for four seasons and has his own show, Dr. Steve-O in 2007.
He was also a bombshell late arrival into the second original UK series of Love Island in 2006, but abruptly left after rowing with producers.
The Jackass star said "simple requests have been ignored", claiming he was not given enough chocolate or beer.

"Steve-O became very emotional last night and again this morning, and was upsetting some of the other celebrities," an ITV spokesman said at the time.
"We therefore agreed with him that he should go home."
Steve-O went on to compete on Dancing with the Stars in 2009 and went on a comedy tour around the US.
While appearing on Channel 4's The Jump in 2014 he met Stacey Solomon and the pair became a surprise couple.
Speaking about hitting it off, Jackass star Steve-O said: "We were in Austria for six weeks together [for The Jump] and pretty much on the first night I was just getting creepy and looking her up online. I liked her right away and we just started having a great time."
But they couldn't make the long-distance relationship work and split after six months.

Steve-O made headlines recently after duck taping himself a to giant billboard in LA for his new comedy special Gnarly.
He was reprimanded by police during his latest stunt on Thursday morning when onlookers reported the star on a crime alert app - and fire brigades were eventually called to the scene to rescue the prankster.
Alongside a jaw-dropping photograph of himself dangling from the billboard hundreds of feet in the air, he wrote on Facebook: "I’m attached to a billboard right now and want to emphasize that a team of real professionals rigged everything safely.
"There is zero chance of me falling, and it’s important to me that we not waste any valuable city resources on this.
"I’m happy to just hang out, and really want the world to know about this project I worked so hard on. It’s called Gnarly and, If you’re over 18, check it out."
Jason 'Wee Man' Acuna

Italian-born Jason started off as a subscription manager for Big Brother skateboarding magazine before getting into the Jackass antics.
Some of his most hilarious stunts have included skating as an Oompa-Loompa, kicking himself in the head and doing deep-knee bends with basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal on his back.
He starred in reality TV series Armed and Famous in 2007 and hosted MTV's Scarred Live.
Jason has appeared as Wee Man in a number of films, including Death to the Supermodels and Grind.
But he mad a move to family feature films in 2012 as executive producer and star of the movie Elf-Man.
Away from acting, he was an investor in the Chronic Tacos chain of Mexican restaurants and opened his first franchise in California in 2010.
Chris Pontius

Chris was with Jackass from the first episode and has been the victim of many pranks over the years, taking a lot of hits on the way.
Known as 'Party Boy' and 'Pontius The Barbarian', the stunt performer has quite the extensive acting career away from the show.
He appeared as an Irish Dock Worker in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and as Jesus in National Lampoon's TV: The Movie.
Chris also had roles in sitcom Raising Hope in 2012 and Netflix comedy Game Over, Man! in 2018.
Last year, Chris became a father for the first time when son Axe was born.
Bam Margera

Skateboarder Bam Margera started off by filming himself performing tricks for his 'Camp Kill Yourself' video series.
Along with fellow CYK pal Ryan Dunn, the pair were chosen for the Jackass team and the rest is history.
He played himself in 2003 skateboarding movie Grind and was part of Team Element, the demonstration team for Element Skateboards.
Bam has also been an animated character in half a dozen Tony Hawk skating video games.
Following the success of Jackass he was given his own spin-off on MTV, Viva La Bam, which followed him and his crew doing stunts and missions for five seasons.

His 2007 wedding to Melissa Rothstein and their engagement was filmed for MTVs series Bam's Unholy Union, but they divorced in 2012 and he married Nicole Boyd the following year.
He has written, produced and starred in three independent films, Haggard, Minghags and Bam Margera Presents: Where the♯$&% Is Santa?.
Outside of his TV and film projects, Bam started the Filthy Note Records music label and has been part of bands The Evesdroppers and F***face Unstoppable.
Bam has struggled with drinking in the past and has opened up on mental health issues including anxiety and eating disorders.
He was heavily hit by the death of his close pal Ryan Dunn in 2011.
Ryan Dunn
Ryan Dunn rose to fame with best pal Bam as part of the CYK crew before slotting into the Jackass team.
He took part in some classic stunts that even some of the other lads were too afraid to do and got the nickname 'Random Hero'.
Ryan starred in spin-off series Viva La Bam as well as the movies, but also went to appear in acting roles.
The stunt performer appeared in Jessica Simpson film Blonde Ambition in 2007 and Sweet dreams in 2009, as well as an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Ryan tragically died in June 2011 along with Jackass Number Two production assistant Zachary Hartwell when his car veered off the road and hit a tree before bursting into flames.
A subsequent toxicology report found his blood alcohol level was more than twice the maximum legal limit when he was driving.
Many celebrities, including Dwayne Jonhson, Tonhy Hawk and his Jackass cast members paid tribute to him after his death, while King of Leon dedicated a song to him at their London concert.
MTV aired an hour-long tribute to Dunn in November that year and Jack Presents: Bad Grampa was also dedicated to him.
Ehren McGehey

Ehren McGhehey started out as a professional snowboarder but retired after breaking his neck.
Better known as 'Danger Ehren', the daredevil had a reputation for always getting injured and losing lots of teeth while filming some crazy stunts.
One of his most outrageous pranks, 'Terror Taxi', came at the end of Jackass Number Two.
Ehren played the role of a terrorist passenger in the back of a taxi, but was unaware that the 'fake' beard he was wearing was comprised of his co-stars' pubic hair.
Since Jackass 3D he has appeared in popular TV shows Portlandia, Ridiculousness, and Grimm, as well as in films Paranoid park and All Hell Breaks Loose.
Preston Lacy

Having met Johnny Knoxville at an audition for an advert, Preston was originally brought onto Jackass as a writer.
He is responsible for scripting some of the cast's most memorable pranks over the years.
But Johnny eventually managed to convince the former truck driver to get involved with their wild stunts on camera.
His funniest skits always seemed to involve him chasing after Wee Man down the street in just a pair of tight white pants.
He appeared on American comedy show Ridiculousness with Wee Man in 2012 and 2014, as well as starring in the Jackass movies.
Most recently, the comedy performer has been touring festivals, clubs, bars around America doing stand-up.
Dave England
Dave is a former professional snowboarder and was the founder of snowboarding magazine Skintight.
He was left with just one testicle due to a horror accident on the snow, which was proven in the second Jackass film when he attached a leech to his scrotum.
In Jackass Number Two, Dave claimed he was the "world's first professional s***ter" because he gets paid to poo on TV - and claims he is the only person in the world who can defecate on command.
In one of his most disgusting stunts, 'Poo Diaper', Dave got a baby's nappy out of a bin and started eating from it.
He also once ate raw ingredients, forced himself to vomit in a bowl, then fried it up to make an omelette which he ate.
Dave, who is the father of four children, appeared in the Jackass series as well as all three films.
He also starred in snowboarding comedy Shred in 2008, as well as the films Natural Born Pranksters and The Bet in 2016.
Stevie Lee
Wrestling star and actor Stevie Lee Richardson appeared in Jackass 3D - the third big-screen outing of the show in 2010.
Stevie, who was nicknamed 'Puppet The Psycho Dwarf', pulled out a gun on fellow TNA wrestler Jeff Jarret in one heart-in-your-mouth stunt.
After becoming a big hit, the Half Pint Brawlers star went on to appear in Oz The Great and Powerful and American Horror Story.
Sadly, Stevie died unexpectedly from a heart attack last month at the age of just 54-years-old.
In a heartfelt statement, his family revealed that a GoFundMe page had been set up in his memory.
"Steve 'Puppet The Psycho Dwarf' Lee Richardson unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at his home in the morning," the statement read.
"He was beloved by many and has many friends that were family, fans that adored him, but only his brother Jim left to take care of final arrangements.
"Puppet has put smiles across the world with his hardcore attitude and lifestyle.
"He is a legend in the art of Midget Wrestling.
"He needs our help to give him one last curtain call.
"Please donate what you can, share his memories with everyone, and share this fundraiser to give the Psycho Dwarf the best resting place possible."
