June 06--Jackalope Theatre Company announced its 2016-17 season, featuring three area premieres, on Monday.

First up is Kristiana Rae Colon's "Octagon" (Oct. 19-Nov. 20), about young slam poets writing about the world around them and competing for a coveted spot on the team. Tara Branham will direct.

Next is "The Snare" (Feb. 22-April 1), a new play by Samantha Beach. Elana Boulos will direct the coming-of-age tale about a pastor's daughter whose prayers are answered by the devil.

Finishing the season is "Ideation" (May 10-June 27) by Aaron Loeb. Artistic director Gus Menary will direct the psychological thriller about ethically challenged corporate consultants.

Performances will take place at Broadway Armory Park, 5917 N Broadway. Jackalope will also continue to present curated work at The Frontier, 1106 W. Thorndale Ave., including another collaboration with Senn Arts High School's student theater group ("The Yard"), the monthly show "Good Evening with Pat Whalen" and The 8th Annual Living Newspapers Festival in August 2017.
