Jack Wilshere to Rangers transfer claim as ex Arsenal man has West Ham contract terminated

The summer transfer window may now be closed but Rangers could still make one final move, according to a report.

Jack Wilshere is a free agent after his West Ham contract was cancelled on deadline day and talkSPORT say a potential switch to Ibrox "shouldn't be ruled out".

The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his career, but says he's been fit and available for selection for a number of months.

Wilshere burst onto the scene at Arsenal as a teenager in 2008 – playing against Rangers in the Emirates Cup as a 17-year-old.

He went on to play more than 100 matches for the Emirates club, while racking up 34 England caps.

And, despite a challenging couple of years, he reckons he still has plenty to offer at the top level.

In a tweet, he said: "I am still incredibly hungry, ambitious and desperate to play football and achieve success.

"I'm still only 28 and feel fit, strong and ready to play.

"I'm now looking forward to the future and hope to be able to make an announcement about the next stage of my career in due course."

Rangers signed South African midfielder Bongani Zungu on deadline day having been short on midfield options throughout much of the summer.
