Former West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere admitted he is 'surprised' at the lack of playing time afforded to Divock Origi at Liverpool.
Origi made an instant impact when he came on off the bench in Sunday’s 3-2 loss against West Ham at the London Stadium.
The Belgian scored the Reds’ second goal late on in the game with a fine finish after picking up the ball with his back to goal on the edge of the area.
And Wilshere couldn’t understand why Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp doesn’t use the 26-year-old more often in the Reds attack.

With Roberto Firmino picking up a serious hamstring in the win over Atletico Madrid last Wednesday, Liverpool were a man down as far as attacking options are concerned so the Belgian was called upon.
Wilshere was part of the punditry team on Sky Sports for the match and said after the game: “It’s a great finish. I am surprised he has not played a lot more. I really like him.”

It was thought that Origi’s time at the club was up in the summer as he was made available for transfer - if a suitable offer came in - and even Klopp expressed his surprise at the lack of offer.
Origi stayed at Liverpool to fight for his place and with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah departing for the African Cup of Nations in January, the Champions League final goalscorer will be needed to keep the Reds in the fight for the title.
