Jack Wilshere's rediscovery as Rangers linked star goes back to basics in hunt for career-defining move

Determined Jack Wilshere is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to stay sharp as he awaits his next club.

The former England international was released by West Ham on transfer deadline day and he has been strongly linked with a switch to Rangers.

He knows Steven Gerrard well from Three Lions duty but the 28-year-old very much remains a free agent.

Not that the 28-year-old is letting that bother him as he has been spending time at his own school of excellence.

Wilshere's NCF elites looks to give young players a chance and he has been joining players looking for a big opportunity in recent days.

The former Arsenal hero certainly is chomping at the bit and despite the Ibrox link, he is also eyeing a potential move to either Italy or Spain.

Wilshere was widely regarded as the finest English talent to emerge since Paul Gascoigne but a series of ankle injuries put paid to his burgeoning career at the Emirates.

But the pass master admits his next switch is about more than just results on the pitch as he aims to find joy from the beautiful game once again.

Speaking earlier this month, he said: "I just want to be happy playing football again.

"Probably in the first three games when I signed for West Ham that was the last time I was happy playing football. I just want to be happy with a smile on my face and being an important player for a team."
