Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed he'd pick his former club over Manchester City if he had the choice to play under Pep Guardiola or Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.
The 29-year-old spent 10 years in the Gunners' first team but faced a miserable time with injuries which scuppered his progress at the Emirates Stadium.
He has been training with the North London side in recent months as he looks to find a pathway back into professional former after he was released by Bournemouth, seeing him move into punditry.
Wilshere was able to call the current Arsenal boss a team-mate when the Spaniard was a player at the Emirates Stadium before he joined City as an assistant to Guardiola.
And despite City's recent form this season and success in the years gone by, he would still choose his boyhood club over the Blues.
“If both Pep and Mikel Arteta rang me tomorrow, if they both offered me three-year contracts, then I’m going to Arsenal," Wilshere told TalkSPORT.
“It’s my club and I want to get them back to where they belong.”
Guardiola hasn't minced his words on Wilshere in the past.
He discussed the ex-Arsenal man prior to their clash during his time as Barcelona manager, he said in 2011: "Wilshere is a top player. He is an excellent player, not just Arsenal, but also for the national team.
"[But] he is lucky because we have many players in the second team like him but he plays because there is no pressure at his club to win titles."
Currently, in the middle of the park, Mikel Arteta has Thomas Partey, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard in his artillery.
Whilst, City have Kevin de Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan, to name a few.
