Jack Wilshere makes fresh Arsenal transfer admission following Mesut Ozil comments

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has made a fresh admission about his love for the club as he searches for a new side.

Wilshere is currently a free agent after being released by West Ham in the summer.

The injury-prone playmaker, who is still just 28, doesn’t appear to be in line to join a new club in the near future.

And the England international has admitted that there is one club he would love to come in for him.

He told the ITV Football Football Show: "Listen, you never know. I'm an Arsenal man. There's nothing, I've not spoken to anyone or anything but that would be the dream.

"I'm not stupid to know that there's probably no chance of it happening but I'm an Arsenal man, I love the club and want to see the club do well."

Wilshere also revealed what he has heard about current Gunners boss Mikel Arteta from those inside the club, praising the Spaniard’s efforts so far.

“I’ve heard he’s really good,” he added. “A lot of people who were there when I was there have left, but a few are still there.

“He’s really hands on, it’s really coach-led, is what I’ve heard, he knows what he wants and where he wants his players to be.

“He wants hard work every session and I think you can see that when he first came in.”

Finally, Wilshere gave his verdict on the debacle involving Mesut Ozil and his omission from playing squads for this season.

The England international has given his backing to Arteta, but admits that the current set up is lacking the creative spark ex-teammate Ozil would offer.

“I don’t know what has gone on there, but when you look on, it is crying out for an Ozil-type player,” Wilshere told Dubai-based outlet The National.

“Especially with the quality they have up front, with the likes of [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang and [Alexandre] Lacazette, players who would thrive of someone like that.

“I think Arteta knows what he is doing. He has a plan, and it is going to take some time and I think he will get there eventually.”
