Jack Wilshere backed for Rangers transfer as former Ibrox midfielder makes 'grab bull by the horns' plea

Charlie Adam has urged Rangers to "grab the bull by the horns" if there's a chance of bringing Jack Wilshere to Ibrox.

The former England international was released by West Ham on deadline day so is free to find himself another club.

Rumours are circulating that Steven Gerrard may look to bring the 28-year-old to Scotland and Adam has urged his old club to make a deal happen.

Speaking on PLZ Soccer the Dundee man said: "There’s always a possibility Wilshere could come to Rangers.

"Will it be a pay as you play? Because he will still be getting paid from West Ham, and he might just think I might go up there and play until the end of this season.

"I could see it happening because Steven’s got that presence so it wouldn’t surprise me.

"But obviously signing that lad in from South Africa is a different issue because he might’ve thought about that before.

“When a quality player like Wilshere becomes available you’ve got to grab the bull by the horns and try and get that deal done.”

Wilshere has also been linked with a return to former club Arsenal, with talkSPORT host Adrian Durham claiming a move could be in the offing.
