Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott risk repeating Gary Neville's Solskjaer mistake with Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta has been receiving a flurry of praise from Arsenal players he has played with recently, and despite the excellent run in form, we must avoid a situation similar to Manchester United if Arsenal’s form reaches an embarrassing turn.

Gary Neville, Roy Keane, and other former teammates of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have supported him, even though it is clear the club need a change of manager.

And it is due to this, that a toxic atmosphere around the Manchester club has been created with the fanbase disagreeing in their numbers with former players’ support for Solskjaer.

Arsenal and our ex-players must learn from this and be cautious not to repeat the same mistake as Manchester United.

The Gunners are currently on an excellent run of form, as Arteta’s side currently find themselves on a 10 match unbeaten run, which has contributed to a massive climb up the Premier League table to fifth place.

We started the season terribly, losing the first three games in the league and conceding nine goals in the process, which left the club slumped at the bottom of the table going into the September international break.

But Arteta must be commended for the turnaround in form and having the ability to rally the side despite the poor performances.

This is a notion that has been supported by the Spaniard’s former Arsenal teammate, Theo Walcott.

He said: “I like what he is doing Mikel, particularly with young players. I feel like he is starting to mould into a really good manager and I feel like his man-management skills are down to a tee.

I just like that there is a fear factor coming back.”

Arteta and Walcott were teammates under Arsene Wenger for five seasons and won two trophies together.

The Englishman is certainly accurate with his praise, as the squad Arteta created has a real togetherness and it is clear they are behind the Spaniard’s ideologies.

Walcott hasn’t just been the only former teammate of Arteta to sing the praises, as Jack Wilshere has also recently praised the manager.

Speaking to The Mirror , Wilshere said: "He makes it clear to the players what he wants from them and I think as well you're starting to see that on the pitch. They have a clear philosophy and a way they want to play and I think that is credit to the manager.

You can see a clear philosophy that they want to play out from the back and play the right way and I think they're getting better at that. They've got a young team there that are getting better at doing that and they will continue to get better over time.”

Whilst the Arsenal manager is certainly worthy of all the praise coming his way currently, the same energy must be kept if the club’s form, unfortunately, takes a turn for the worse.

But we can learn from Manchester United’s current crisis as there seems to be a major split between the former players and the fans.
