Jack Whitehall SLAMMED by Piers Morgan over BRITs 'fat-shaming' jibe

Jack Whitehall was taken to task by Piers Morgan after making a ‘fat-shaming’ joke at the Good Morning Britain host’s expense at the BRIT Awards.

The comedian incurred the wrath of the ITV presenter when he alluded to the time Morgan accused Little Mix of “using sex” to sell their music at last month’s ceremony, and joked that “voluptuous breasts and four chins […] must have been like looking in the mirror for him.”

The remarks prompted Morgan to fire off a series of angry tweets in which he claimed that he was “shocked & disappointed” by Whitehall’s remarks and described the 30-year-old as a “chinless little weed.”

Addressing the incident as he came face to face with Morgan on Good Morning Britain, Whitehall said that he felt “like [he’d] been brought into the headmaster’s office.”

The 53-year-old host then called him out for his jokes, asking: “In the current climate of political correctness and being nice about people, is it appreciate to fat shame me on national TV?”

Whitehall then said the comments were “totally unacceptable,” before sneaking in another barbed jab at Morgan’s “chins.”

“I knew that you have a great sense of humour and you’d take it on your chins – and you did,” he added.

“I can’t help myself, you are my favourite pantomime villain,” he continued.

“Every time, I just end up talking about you. Maybe I’m obsessed with you.”

Morgan went on to suggest that Whitehall’s remarks were met with a “delicious silence” because “in this country, they don’t like you criticising a national treasure,” prompting the comedian to describe him as “a regional trinket at best.”

Whitehall also said that Little Mix’s reaction to the joke was “very frosty,” adding: “Clearly they were like, ‘We’re not saying anything about him as it will reignite everything.’”

The presenter and the girl band became embroiled in a feud last year after Morgan accused them of “using nudity to sell albums” after they stripped off and covered themselves in insulting remarks to promote their single Strip.

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am
