Jack Whitehall 'honoured' to be hosting the Brits for the fourth time in a row

Comedian Jack Whitehall will once again host the BRIT Awards ceremony when it returns on May 11.

The comic will take up hosting duties for the fourth year in a row after a date was set for the ceremony's return to The O2 Arena in London - although slightly later than expected due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And Jack, 32, said it's an "honour" to do the show yet again.

The comic told The Sun he would have "bitten organisers’ hands off to to present it".

He said: "It really is always an honour to do it but this year feels even more special. I must be doing something right to be invited back.

"This is about celebrating all the artists that made the music which helped us get through what’s been a b*d of a year. It’s also now just a nice excuse to get out of the house and put on a suit.

"I’d honestly have done it if they’d held it in a field with just me and Craig David."

The Bad Education star believes this year could be a really significant event as the world tries to get back a sense of normality and attend live music once again.

"I think everyone is desperate to be back having those experiences, and everyone has done so incredibly well to get us to this place,” he continued.

Jack’s recent outings as host of the awards have won rave reviews from guests and fans alike.

However, he admits there have been the odd eyebrow-raising moments.

He said: "As the host I try to not say controversial things but I guess as a comedian my radar might be a little off.

"I always think I know which is the joke that’s going to land me in the papers the following day — but it always tends to be one I wasn’t even concerned about."

This year's nominations will be announced on the Brit's social media pages by Nick Grimshaw today.

There will also be announcements regarding the show's performers in due course.
