Jack Whitehall forced to apologise after SWEARING live on Lorraine

Oops: Jack Whitehall made an unfortunate slip up live on air (Picture: ITV)

Comedian Jack Whitehall was forced to apologise after accidentally swearing during an interview on ITV’s Lorraine.

The 30-year-old appeared on the show to discuss his upcoming gig as the BRIT Awards host, and was taken to task by presenter Christine Lampard for using a rude word live on air.

Discussing what viewers could expect from this year’s awards show, Whitehall revealed that the atmosphere would be “raucous,” telling Lampard: “Everyone’s there to have a good time, and it’s quite a raucous event.”

He went on to reveal that This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield partied the hardest at the 2018 ceremony, putting musicians “to shame.”

“The best thing about last year, though, is that everyone’s absolutely p*****, and you’ve got, like, all these rock stars and the Foo Fighters and people like that, who you expect to be very rowdy,” he said.

“Yet still it was Schofield and Willoughby who were the most drunk in the entire area, and behaving more outrageously than most of the rock stars.

“They put them all to shame. It’s a crazy event and people want the craziness, they want the raucousness so you’ve got to just embrace the chaos.”

Awkward: Lampard quickly stepped in to correct Whitehall's blunder (ITV)

Lampard, who is currently filling in for Lorraine Kelly while the host takes a holiday, quickly picked up on Whitehall’s slip of the tongue, telling him: “I’m glad you said drunk, as opposed to the other word you just said.

“We’ll just apologise for that just in case this morning, because it is half term.”

The comedian then expressed his regret at his choice of words, replying with: “Oh yes, that’s not a word that we use. I’m so sorry.”

Whitehall went on to hint that he could be making an appearance during The Greatest Showman star Hugh Jackman’s opening number at tomorrow’s ceremony, telling Lampard: “I couldn’t possibly comment [but] I make a lovely bearded lady.”

The BRIT Awards will air on February 20 on ITV from 8pm.
