Jack Simpson could leave Rangers as transfer possibility attracts English Championship clubs

Rangers could let Jack Simpson leave on-loan in January.

A number of English Championship clubs are circling around the defender as he remains well out of the picture at Ibrox.

The 25-year-old has made just two starts and only four total appearances in the current campaign.

Simpson hasn’t featured at all under Gio van Bronckhorst and only got back on the bench for the last three games.

Van Bronckhorst isn’t likely to stand in Simpson’s way if he can get first-team games in a loan switch.

Sporting director Ross Wilson will look at the centre-half’s growing options then decide what is best for Simpson.

Rangers are set to be boosted at the back with the return of Filip Helander from injury.

They also have Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey and Leon Balogun but any loan could be delayed until Balogun returns from Africa Cup of Nations duty with Nigeria.
